The next step is that ICANN Board formally will make the appointment of the chair at the board meeting at ICANN61. And of course after that on January 1 2018 the new chair and vice chair start their term. Because of this, although you might have heard rumors of the selection, the actual announcement(s) we will make more broadly at next ICANN meeting after the appointment process formally is finalized and of course when the new chair and vice chair start their term.
