Dear Colleagues My apologies -- I should have put this in my updated email to you yesterday -- in answer to Ross' question. The full Board resolution approving the Reviewer's contract is found at http://www.icann.org/minutes/resolutions-21feb06.htm. In particular, "Resolved (06.__), the President and the General Counsel are authorized to engage the London School of Economics Public Policy Group to conduct the GNSO Review according to the terms set out in their proposal, with expenditures not to exceed US$150,000." I believe that we had asked to be briefed on this, including the process, and it was on last week's Council discussion agenda, but we didn't get to it... While I greatly appreciate email posts which are informative, I'd still like a more fulsome discussion on our Council call tomorrow. For instance, the leadership of the SO -e.g. the Council --should be briefed on the overall plans, timelines, process to be followed. I believe that was foreseen in the initial crafting of the original board resolution which was jointly crafted. Perhaps we can have a 15 minutes overview from Liz, and then any quick responses to questions, under AOB. Apologies Liz - I don't think I'm being clear with my original question. Let me rephrase. Understanding that the board has authorized staff to spend up to $150,000 to conduct this review, what are the exact financial terms entered into with this contractor? i.e. how much can we actually expect to spend and over what term. In all candor, I'd simply prefer to review the contract directly myself in order to draw my own conclusions, but I'm not sure if management policy will permits this level of transparency. If the contract can be published, I would prefer that option, otherwise please bear with my questions. :) -ross Liz Williams wrote:
