Dear Councilors, If you recall, one of the two substantive recommendations for new mechanisms to enhance the GNSO Council’s communications practice put forward by the Council Small Team on Communications is to appoint a member in the GNSO Council to serve as a “PR Officer”. In that regard, I am sharing the proposed GNSO PR Officer roles and responsibilities document ( https://docs.google.com/document/d/1EqiSMYetLvWz_ro0EfWrVLf77JOLoowIS5Zbm5NF... ) that staff has helped put together for your review and feedback. As you will see, the document takes into account ICANN policies on social media, making it a PR Officer-led initiative supported by the staff. The mandate for the role seems to be clearly spelt out in the the document. I presume the inaugural PR Officer responsible for establishing a Linkedin page for the GNSO Council will rely on the supporting staff or ICANN comms team to do this so the credentials are archived securely and other volunteers in this role provided access as needed.
I would like to volunteer to serve as the PR Officer in this role for the council.
