[To: council[at]gnso.icann.org] Dear All, Some New Delhi hotels have been posted on the website http://del.icann.org/hotels. The meetings will take place in the Taj Palace Hotel, Sardar Patel Marg, Diplomatic Enclave New Delhi 110 021 http://www.tajhotels.com/Luxury/Taj%20%20Palace%20Hotel,NEW%20DELHI/default.... This hotel is currently sold out. There is a possibility of having a block of rooms for the Council members at the ITC Hotel Maurya (room rate $468 USD) Sardar Patel Marg, Diplomatic Enclave, New Delhi http://www.starwoodhotels.com/sheraton/property/overview/index.html?property... This hotel, I am told, is within walking distance of the venue hotel, but there will also be transportation from the hotels to the venue each day. 'Le Méridien' (room rate $379 USD) 8, Windsor Palace, Janpath New Delhi 110001 rkhan@lemeridien-newdelhi.com http://www.hotels-new-delhi.com/hotel-le-meridien-new-delhi.html has also been indicated as a good hotel. Could you please give me an idea, off the Council list to: <gnso.secretariat@gnso.icann.org> if you would like to be included in a block booking by COB Central European Time (CET) tomorrow, Friday 21 December, as available space is going fast. Travel dates are not necessary for the deadline tomorrow. Thank you very much. Let me see if I understand this correctly. The hotel information was just posted in the last 24 hours and the venue hotel is already booked? So we are looking at a possible situation like we experienced in Luxembourg, one that was terrible in terms of getting to and from the meeting venue from our various hotels. Can anyone explain how this happened? Glen: I fully understand that you are just the messenger. Hi Chuck: I'll give a response a try since it is late for Glen. The number of rooms available at the venue is extremely small. Nearly all ICANN staff is staying off property also. The blocks of rooms available were claimed by a few parties the day of the posting. I will check to see the types of advice and information available and will coordinate dissemination of additional information if needed with Glen and Diane. I know that this is not as helpful as you would like but at least we're in the same boat. Kurt Kurt Pritz ICANN 4676 Admiralty Way, #330 Marina del Rey. The gTLD program office today posted an update to the ICANN website which may be viewed at http://www.icann.org/topics/new-gtld-program.htm. And, there is now a link to gTLD General Information and Updates on the front page of the website. Today's news and announcements section contains an update on policy development and program implementation. Later this afternoon ICANN will post an announcement regarding the solicitation of Expressions of Interest for Dispute Resolution Service Providers for the gTLD project. ICANN will continue to provide updated information via the New gTLD Program page of the website. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Happy Holidays! Thanks for the info, Glen. Will it be possible to make a block booking at one of the more affordable hotels Denise mentioned during the council call that should be announced soon? Thanks, Robin On Dec 20, 2007, at 12:04 PM, GNSO.SECRETARIAT@GNSO.ICANN.ORG wrote:
