Call for Volunteers | SSAD Supplemental Recommendations Team
Dear GNSO Councilors, As discussed during the 16 April GNSO Council meeting, the GNSO Council has tasked the SSAD Supplemental Recommendations Team to develop proposed modifications to non-adopted recommendations in the EPDP Phase 2 Final Report regarding the System for Standardized Access/Disclosure (SSAD). The SSAD Supplemental Recommendations Team Assignment Form is under review and will be distributed to the volunteers as soon as it is finalized. GNSO Council Members are invited to participate in the SSAD Supplemental Recommendations Team to help inform this assignment. GNSO Council Member participation in the Supplemental Recommendations Team will not count toward the team composition allotments for the RrSG, RySG, NCSG, and CSG. Please note the Assignment Form notes that members are “expected to be familiar, or familiarize themselves, with the SSAD recommendations (Recs. 1-18) in the EPDP (RegData) Phase 2 Final Report and the RDRS Standing Committee Final Findings Report.” Call for Volunteers Deadline Please email gnso-secs@icann.org<mailto:gnso-secs@icann.org> by 24 April 2026 if you would like to volunteer to be a member of the SSAD Supplemental Recommendations Team. Once email is sent, please see the attached instructions (PDF) so you may immediately enroll into the GNSO PDP via ICANN Join and update GNSO Statements of Interest. Do not forward the PDF attachment as it contains a unique enrollment code. If you have any additional questions, please send an email to gnso-secs@icann.org<mailto:gnso-secs@icann.org>. Scope of Team’s Assignment As a reminder, the SSAD Supplemental Recommendations Team has been tasked to develop proposed modifications that are focused on addressing the Board’s concerns and RDRS Stand Committee’s recommendations. This is not an opportunity to bring new issues to the table or reopen previous conversations. As a result, the deliberations are expected to be focused, narrow, and swift. Estimated Time Commitment It is projected that the SSAD Supplemental Recommendations Team will begin by meeting once per week for ninety (90) minutes with the potential to increase the meeting cadence if needed. Upcoming Face-to-Face Meeting In addition, a full-day face to face meeting on Day 0 of ICANN86 (Sunday, 7 June) in Seville has been planned to collaborate on draft supplemental recommendations. Further details will be provided for members, and remote participation will be provided for team members who are unable to travel. For the avoidance of doubt, members of the SSAD Supplemental Recommendations Team (including participating Councilors) will be provided with one additional hotel day and one additional day of per diem in Seville. There will not be additional flights or hotel days provided for members who will not be in Seville. Please note, however, remote participation will be made available for team members who are unable to travel. Thank you. Kind regards, Terri Policy Team Supporting the GNSO
Dear Terri, I would like to volunteer for the SSAD Supplemental Recommendations Team in my capacity as chair of the Small Team and subsequent Standing Committee on SSAD and RDRS. I hope you can consider my candidacy as such. To be clear, I had understood from Council discussions during ICANN84 Mumbai that my and John McElwain's participation would be welcome as ex-chair and vice-chair respectively, to represent the legacy of work done over the previous 4 years (as Small Team and Standing Committee); and as such I advised the RrSG not to select me as their member. I believe that participating in a more neutral capacity than representing the RrSG would be fairer to the experience I bring. It has been pointed to me that I could in any case participate as Liaison to the GAC, as other Liaisons are invited. While possible, I just want to note that I would then need to be relieved of the normal reserve I keep during GNSO Council proceedings and the neutrality I keep vis-a-vis the GAC. I intend to maintain the neutrality I tried to keep as Standing Committee chair, but participation is relevant only if I am able to freely represent the experience I bring. In the hope you are able to consider my personal candidacy positively. Kindly, Seb Ducos On Fri, Apr 17, 2026 at 1:30 AM Terri Agnew via council <council@icann.org> wrote:

Hi Seb Thanks so much for the question. Leadership’s view was that you are eligible to join, as one of the liaisons on Council, which is consistent with the approach taken for the SubPro Small Team + (which developed Supplemental Recommendations on SubPro) where liaisons did participate if they wished to, including the then current GNSO liaison to the GAC, who took an active role. Since there may certainly be benefits to hearing from you in your capacity as former chair of the RDRS Standing Committee, our suggestion would be that where that is the case you simply make it clear before your intervention. Thanks for your willingness to participate.
