Review of Existing PDP Policies
Jeff, Regarding the hypothetical from yesterday involving new law passed in Narnia, you mentioned that once a policy is done and adopted by the Board, the Council should not revisit that policy and it's up to the Board to request that if needed. Since you are an original author of the PDP Manual, I am wondering what you make of Section 17, which deals with reviews of past policy recommendations and calls for periodic assessment of PDP policies. Anne, My position was that you cannot reopen the existing PDP once the policy is approved. However, there can be reviews of PDPs (usually indicated in the original PDP as to timing)…..but that is a whole new effort. Sincerely, Jeffrey J. it may/seems to be true that there is no mechanism for re-opening previously approved PDPs. That creates some challenges - the Board's concerns about the "urgent request" policy in EPDP Phase 1 is a case in point.
