Just thinking aloud:

There is ani inevitable interconnectedness across 150 + language scripts that appear together through the lens of UNICODE.

LGR is certainly an method to "tear - off" any given language script and position t in a well articulated space of ICANN remit. 

For me it has always been a great learning experience to manage around this "invariant" basis without much indulgence into geopolitics.

Yes. History does teach several lessons.

Hi Gopal, 

I'm aware of the use of letter combinations to substitute for diacritics when the keyboard doesn't allow their use.  Unfortunately, the Latin Generation Panel decided that those combinations could not be considered when we were working on the original LGR.  And thus the Diacritics Working Group didn't consider them either. 

Just a little bit of history FYI.
