It's hard to understand why the iSOC organization is pushing back against strong community resistance.
Probably because of significant financial penalties if it falls through. They came out of the secret deal with an obligation to sell it to (or, failing that, ram it past) stakeholders based on the little that could be told.
Speculation, but not unjustified or uncommon for such deals.
