Hi all

 

Sorry for having joined late - but the reason for my message is to acknowledge the MTS and LS initiative in running the test today.

 

I have joined in my regular way on my default device, and joined in the interpretation mode on a different device to see the difference.

IMHO the user experience was excellent. Of course, this may be just a test in a situation where most - if not all - speakers were speaking in English, maybe we need a larger test in which multiple languages are used by speakers - which I hope will be the “normal” way to run teleconferences.

 

Kudos to staff. Looking forward to the next steps - and to more contributions in non-English language in teleconferences, to make use of the tools that ICANN is providing to improve multilingualism on the Internet.

The Meetings Technical Services (MTS) and Languages Services (LS) Teams are running a preliminary test of the Zoom interpretation feature on community calls. As a first step, we are testing this feature on the CPWG call today

 

  • To listen to interpretation for this meeting, please join Zoom using Computer Audio.
  • Choose the language you will listen to from the Language Interpretation menu in the Zoom toolbar.
  • Participants who join via Zoom Phone Audio or Adigo Dial-Out will not have access to the interpretation for this session and will instead hear the main Zoom audio only.
