I see it might be too late, but I wasn’t able to reply earlier due to health issues.
I would like to express my interest in becoming the ALAC Alternate to the System Standardized Access/Disclosure Supplemental Recommendations Team. I could be the right candidate given my involvement
in the RDAP/RDRS-related discussions during ICANN85, contributions to privacy issues (cited by the Board and NCSG), familiarity with EURALO and CPWG agendas, expertise in specific threats to high-risk users (including cybercrime and unmadetd privacy infringements),
contributions to the related Public Comments on DNS Abuse, as well as membership in professional cybersecurity such organisations such as ISC2. I am willing to learn much more on the subject, especially from experts such as Alan, whose work I have been following.
I would focus on reporting to him (as I have experience in executive briefings on a ministerial level), rather than contributing directly. Thank you!
Dear All,
A reminder that the deadline for Expressions of Interest to serve as the ALAC Alternate on the SSAD SRT is
today, Wednesday, 22 April at 23:59 UTC.
Kind regards,
Heidi
Dear All,
The GNSO Council has tasked the System Standardized Access/Disclosure Supplemental Recommendations Team (SSAD SRT) to develop proposed modifications to non-adopted recommendations
in the EPDP Phase 2 Final Report regarding SSAD. The SSAD SRT Assignment Form is under review and will be distributed to the volunteers as soon as it is finalized.
The ALAC has been invited to put forward one subject matter expert as its Member, and one Alternate, to participate in the SRT.
Given his vast expertise in WHOIS/RDS, SSAD, RDRS and PPSAI issues and past deliberations, Alan Greenberg will be the subject matter expert/Member appointed by the ALAC. However,
an alternate needs to be appointed.
This is a call for Expressions of Interest (EoI) for the role of ALAC Alternate to the SSAD SRT.
Please find information related to the work of the SSAD SRT, including scope of work, time commitment and the face-to-face meeting being planned for Day 0 during ICANN86.
Please note the Assignment Form notes that members are “expected to be familiar, or familiarize themselves, with the SSAD recommendations (Recs. 1-18) in the EPDP (RegData) Phase
2 Final Report and the RDRS Standing Committee Final Findings Report.”
Scope of Team’s Assignment
As a reminder, the SSAD Supplemental Recommendations Team has been tasked to develop proposed modifications that are focused on addressing the Board’s concerns and RDRS Stand Committee’s
recommendations. This is not an opportunity to bring new issues to the table or reopen previous conversations. As a result, the deliberations are expected to be focused, narrow, and swift.
Estimated Time Commitment
It is projected that the SSAD Supplemental Recommendations Team will begin by meeting once per week for ninety (90) minutes with the potential to increase the meeting cadence if
needed.
Upcoming Face-to-Face Meeting
In addition, a full-day face to face meeting on Day 0 of ICANN86 (Sunday, 7 June) in Seville has been planned to collaborate on draft supplemental recommendations. Further details
will be forthcoming for team members. For the avoidance of doubt, members of the SSAD SRT (provided that they are already travelling to Seville) will be provided with one additional hotel day and one additional day of per diem in Seville. There will not
be additional flights or hotel days provided for members who will not be in Seville. Please note, however, remote participation will be made available for team members who are unable to travel.
Interested candidates are requested to send their EoI to At-Large Staff by Wednesday, 22 April at 23:59 UTC. The ALAC Leadership Team will review the EoIs received
and identify the Alternate to the SSAD SRT.
Candidates should be aware of the metrics applicable to the successful candidate, as set out in the
ALAC
Rules of Procedure Adjunct Document – Metrics and Remedial Actions for Appointees.
Kind regards,
Heidi
