Apology - Need to step down from co-chairing the CPWG
Dear All, After much consideration and thinking I have realised the necessity of devoting more time to my responsibilities as AFRALO chair and the planing of the upcoming meeting in Africa. Additionally, I am eager to initiate more engagement activities that will require more focus and time. Olivier it was a pleasure co-chairing the group with you. However, stepping down from this role means I will have more time to contribute to the At-large policy statements and work as I remain an active member of the CPWG. See you all on the next CPWG call P.S. Olivier you will need to look for another co-chair or run the call solo! I will now be more on the policy contributors side, I had no time for both. Thanks again. Kind regardsHadia Elminiawi
Hadia, Thanks for all your amazing work on co-chairing the CPWG for the last few years. Thank you Hadia for stepping in as you did, to co-chair so wonderfully with Olivier, as you did - a dynamic duo! But I think we all appreciate the new load that you now have and of course you want to give it your best. But thankfully retaining some time for continuing with the CPWG as well . I'm sure that some generous and equally energetic volunteer from our At-Large Team will volunteer to take over your role, but you have left big shoes to fill. Enjoy your new role as the Chair of AFRALO - I knew it would happen eventually! You have a great team there. Well done! Dear Hadia, thank you so very much for all of your devotion and work in the past years! It has been a pleasure to co-chair the CPWG with you and your dedication towards following all policy work and keeping a close eye on the policy comment pipeline is exceptional. With so much happening at ICANN, it is no small feat! I understand that both chairing a RALO and co-chairing the CPWG is a significant amount of work - which sometimes ends up engulfing your whole life. But I am reassured that the CPWG will not lose you altogether as I look forward to your sustained contributions in At-Large policy statements - something you have done since the very early days when you have joined this community. Thanks again and best of wishes for the preparation of the next ICANN meeting. Kindest regards, Olivier On 27/03/2024 22:22, Hadia El Miniawi wrote:

I'm sure that we will continue to see you contributing on the CPWG and wish you all the best moving forward. CCC On Wed, 27 Mar 2024 at 17:23, Hadia El Miniawi via CPWG <cpwg@icann.org> wrote:
Dear All,
After much consideration and thinking I have realised the necessity of devoting more time to my responsibilities as AFRALO chair and the planing of the upcoming meeting in Africa. Additionally, I am eager to initiate more engagement activities that will require more focus and time.
Olivier it was a pleasure co-chairing the group with you. However, stepping down from this role means I will have more time to contribute to the At-large policy statements and work as I remain an active member of the CPWG.
See you all on the next CPWG call
P.S. Olivier you will need to look for another co-chair or run the call solo! I will now be more on the policy contributors side, I had no time for both. Thanks again.
Kind regards Hadia Elminiawi

Hello Hadia, Life is full of decisions, and for sure you made the right one. I'm sure that your commitment to AFRALO as a chair isn't an easy task. You are living the CPWG, after you have made a great contribution to this community. In all the sessions that I followed, I could see your sharp management of all issues and also contribution to a lot of policy preparation. You and Olivier made a very dynamic partnership and I hope that he will find a good new partner like you did for several years. Good luck and of course, we are still doing our best together!
