I think the draft proposal sounds good.
I suggest that either YK or DS present. I can, too.

Thank You very much Yuliya, Vladimir, Yuriy and Daniel!
Very Important notes.

First, as I tried to explain, there is no round tables, panels or workshops on TLDCON. Only sessions about one topic (for example IDN), with 4-5 presentations during session. After each presentation, audience ask the questions.
I'm sorry, Yuliya and Daniel, but there is no opportunity for workshop, panel, or round table, and for moderator / only presenter.
And this is the good time to ask You all - Yuriy, Iliya, Dmitry and myself, we'll be there - so, who can be the presenter? Yuriy? Any other volunteers?

Back to presentation, for now we have suggestion on very short intro-presentation like this>
1. who we are
2. what are we doing
3. where are we right now (stage of forming, our Proposal...)
4. why this is important for ccTLDs and gTLDs
5. why this is important for language communities at large
6. how You can join our group
This presentation is 10/15 min tops. After that we could have wider discussion with all in the room.

Yuriy, Yuliya, Vladimir, Daniel, is this inline with Your suggestions?
Or am I wrong? Please, maybe I didn't catch everything right.

And if this summary of presentation is ok with You all, I would like to ask another question - do we have a volunteers for making draft of presentation?

Best,
Dusan

Dear all,

I would like to second the idea that Yuliya expressed. In my opinion, the best approach would be a (very short) status update presentation, followed by wider discussion. I would not expect any direct opinion expressed, but it would serve as tasting the opinions. Cultural and language topics are very sensitive and are rarely easy to discuss in such meetings.

It would be also great to involve as Vladimir suggested, a much wider language community. This is, what we lack in my opinion in general — our knowledge and view point are too much on the technical/technology/policy side. We need to solicit more language-minded partners.

The ccTLDs are in general "shy". This is usually because they are already deeply involved in resolving issues such as what we deal with in this work — and they rarely appreciate being told what and how to do it by outsiders. On the other hand, ccTLD managers are one of the most experience sharing community in our business. With the right approach, it could be win-win for everybody.

So.. a lot of diplomacy is needed here for good outcome.

Daniel Kalchev

Dear Dusan, all,

I'll not be attending the event. But my understanding is that the workshop is needed when we can present a solid outcome or the progress done on something, in our case a kind of very first and consistent draft. I'm not sure we are ready to have a solid presentation of something.

But I think a roundtable or a kind of meeting where we can gather the opinion of other participants, as the event will gather the representatives of the South-Eastern and Eastern Europe, so potential experts, can be useful.

To sum up, I don't think the workshop is needed, but an open discussion in an open format can be useful for further input to the draft we have.

I hope this helps, Yuliya

Thank You Dmitry and Iliya!
So far we can see that the desired form is presentation, not workshop.
Is there any other opinion, or we can start to make together one presentation about our group?
Yuliya, Nelly, Mira... Any other thoughts?

Dusan

Dear All,

I don't feel that a special workshop is needed - most of the people follow the topic in any case, AND I don't think a workshop would fit in the agenda. But as Dmitry said, a simple presentation with status update would be good - attendees will be interested.

So Dusan, if you have the possibility, I think you should ask them for a presentation.

Best regards,
Iliya

Getting additional members into the group would be indeed a good thing to do.

Unfortunately, not having been involved with ccTLDs I can't really judge whether the venue is good for this purpose. If attendance from the regions that are not covered by our group is expected, then it should probably be a good idea to organise some outreach to them during this conference.

So I trust our ccTLD members in this effort.

Vladimir

Dear Dusan, All,

Dusan, thanks for clarification and explanation.

I confess, I missed one very important nuance - "out of the TLDCON agenda", i.e. outside the TLDCON agenda. I good remember the skeptical remark of Andrew Kolesnikov about "some special knowledge" during IDN session on TLDCON'14 :-).

So I think that in the frameworks of official program TLDCON we have not any chance for inclusion this point.

Best Regards,

Yuri

Dear Yuriy, all,

I must be open as always, and I don't like this start. Let start differently, in a true MSH way, and not top down.
