Dusan,

Of course, we will support the work of the Cyrillic Generation Panel. Most of us might be silent at times (or even longer times :)) but we all have committed to achieve success in this work. You know, sometimes things happen very slow.

I am glad you accepted to be chairing our work and in a way I expect that you push us all around. As Nelly suggested a central part in our work should be the work plan. We should often re-distribute it and mark where we are.

Perhaps a good idea is to add all of the resources we maintain/use to the web page. All links to various historical documents, presentations, sessions etc. While we might work primarily via the mailing list it is always good idea to have the relevant and up to date information at one place, so that members not be put away by the need to walk trough tons of correspondence etc.

For the conference calls I would propose invitations be sent earlier. Sometimes people travel and 3 days might be too short of a notice. It is in fact better to have a calendar for the calls, of course also available via common interface (the site, and also downloadable in various formats).

Hope this helps a bit.

Best Regards,
Daniel Kalchev

Dear all,

First, Sarmad, thank You very much!

According to this, we have 26 subscribers. Without Alexandra, Sarmad and
Michael from ICANN, the number is 23.
According to our Proposal, we have 24 members.
From more than few people, there is no single mail on the list, and they
are not included in the Proposal list.

So, there is a change in number of participants and we need to see who
is willing to participate further. Again, I would like to kindly ask You
to send one e-mail regarding Your participation. Thank You in advance!

As I promised, next mail about the work and resources...

After all, we done some things and thanks to some of the members, things
are going further. But, next question is about the way we are doing
things, and I kindly ask for Your comments.

First, for all of you, like a reminder, I listed some resources (be free
to add more)>

a) mailing list archive - http://mm.icann.org/pipermail/cyrillicgp/
b) Dropbox - According to my Dropbox settings, we have 24 people with
access. If You don't have access to our folder, please, send email to
the list and Sarmad will invite You to dropbox. Keep in mind that it's
not always the case that mailing address that You use for Dropbox is the
same as for this mailing list.
c) web site
(https://community.icann.org/display/croscomlgrprocedure/Cyrillic+Script+GP)
- I think we need to refresh the page, at least with current list of
members.
d) More documents which I find very useful for our work -
https://community.icann.org/display/croscomlgrprocedure/Document+Repository
e) history links
http://singapore52.icann.org/en/schedule/wed-lgr/presentation-idn-root-zone-lgr-workshop-11feb15-en.pdf
f) Other important resources
https://www.ethnologue.com/about/language-status
https://www.icann.org/news/announcement-2-2015-04-27-en

In the future, to avoid problems that we had in the past, I kindly
suggest some simple rules and this is also open for your comments>

1. MAIN CHANNEL> We are using mailing list as a main channel of
communication. Whenever You put something into Dropbox (or any other
channel / gdocs, or something similar), please inform us on the mailing
list. Any changes, discussion items, work products ... should be sent to
the mailing list.
2. SWG> You are taking part of small working groups (SWG) by your native
language and script. You can always indicate that You like to join
another SWG. SWG are working by using our mailing list / look at the rule 1.
3. CONF. CALLS> The group will decide on the next meeting how often will
have regular conference calls (we have agreed about 15 days...). Every
conference call invitation must be sent minimum 3 days before. To
schedule non-regular conference call we will use "doodle poll".
4. Rough concensus is a must for a decision of GP.

Hope this was helpful. Please feel free to comment.
Your thoughts are welcome!

Next mail will be about the working plan.

Cheers,
Dusan

Dear all,

All I can say right now is> I will try to do that, it would be my pleasure and I want to thank Yuriy for all the work and energy. Yuriy, best wishes for all future works and hope to see You soon.

By taking a role of coordinator of GP, I would like to make some clarifications about our work. First, I have strong filing that we need to reset things here and start from the scratch, taking into consideration what we have done already. Inline with that, I would like to kindly ask You to help me find a good working format for us.

WHO IS READY TO PARTICIPATE?
It was obvious that most of You were silent during this election process, and it makes some doubts for me about this role of coordinator.
I strongly hope that this behavior will change during the future works.
My first suggestion is that after year and a half, we need to see how many people is still ready to participate>

a) I would like to kindly ask Sarmad, if it's possible, to send us a list of participants in GP (mailing list members).
b) I am sending this email also to Vladimir Shadrunov, to kindly invite him to come back and continue the work with us. Vladimir, You were very active member in the past, and I think that we need You. I hope that You'll come back.
c) I will kindly ask ALL of You to send one short email to the list, expressing Your opinion and current status in this group. In other words, I am asking everyone of you> can You and will You participate?
Of course, I kindly ask You to be clear about specific conditions for the work in your mail - tell us if there are some limitations or anything crucial about Your participation.

Thank You in advance!
It will take only 2-3 minutes of your time, and this will be crucial for further adjustment and shaping our working plan.

Next mail will be about our work and resources.

Cheers,
Dusan

Thanks Dusan. Agreed that two election counters/monitors are better.

Let me nominate you for the chair.

I propose myself as chair for small WG.

   Dear Dmitry, all,
   Thanks for the input.
   For separation:
Today is 8. January - nomination period is until 15. January.
Voting period is until 20. January.
Secret voting: It can be done by anyone who's not candidate.
Sarmad can be the one also, if he's willing to do that. But,
putting only one person in that position is like putting him to
the role of judge and the whole process can be jeopardized. I
suggest Sarmad and Michael to be in that role - by sending email
of voting to both of them.
Of course, we are not electing ceo of icann, and I personally
don't see the benefit in secret voting, but - if You want this
   way, ok.
Let's do it, if Sarmad and Michael don't object to the suggestion.

Good idea but I suggest separating nominations and voting, and
having voting secret (achievable by emailing it to moderator,
which have to be not a candidate.. I suggest Yuri does it.)

Dear all,

First, I wish You merry Xmas, happy New Year, and all success in
   Your
life and in business. Secondly, I hope that we can be faster in
   our GP
process.
As Yuriy have stepped down from the position of chair, and I see no
movement in that direction, I would like to kindly suggest next
   steps.

1. Nomination period
Timeframe> from now until 15. January.
Rules>
Nomination will be done on the list, any candidates can be
   suggested by
the member of the list.  Member of the list can nominate two
   persons -
one for Chairman/Coordinator of the GP and second coordinator of his
small WG, from his region. Any candidate must say that he accept the
nomination, via mail on the list.
We need coordinator or chairman of the GP, and also 4
   coordinators of
small WGs, according to Proposal.

2. Election period
Timeframe> in parallel with nomination period, from now until
   20. January.
Rules>
Voting is open and public, also on the mailing list via mails.
Every member of the list can vote for one candidate per role (5
   roles).
For small WGs coordinators, we will count only member votes from the
region. Candidate with biggest number of votes is the
coordinator/chairman for the position.

Around 20th of January, we can have conf call.

What You think about these simple steps?
Can we go with this rules or You have another suggestions?

And to answer Sarmad's question - Yes, You can book the room. We
   will
have a meeting for sure on Wednesday afternoon.

Regards,
Dusan
