Dear colleagues,

15th Oct you was participants of first (initial) meeting of Cyrillic Generation Panel during ICANN'51.
Allow me to inform you about start of practical work of GP and give list of issues.

1. Our work within GP's framework will be focused on two points:

  1.1 definition and defending code points and rules for IDN TLD
  labels for Cyrillic script, i.e. the current work is on TLD Cyrillic
  labels for the Root Zone

  1.2 definition, defending and fixing problem points and relevant
  rules for IDN email, IDN as is, URL web-indexing etc., i.e. that are
  subjects of Universal Acceptance (UA) Initiative

On condition Cyrillic GP community will make effort to work on both aspects separately.

2. One of the first point - Maximal Starting Repertoire (MSR).

   An updated version of MSR is being released for public comment later this year.
   If Cyrillic script community feels additions are needed to MSR for the Cyrillic script block, these can be done at that time.

3. Another important point - the cross-script confusion.

These points are given only for advanced lighting future discourse within frame of point 1.1
Issues for discussion within point 1.2, for example, testing IDN email...
