Dear colleagues,

Thank you for your active engagement in this Working Group.

May I summarize the suggestions that I’ve heard during the set of our 1:1 interviews.

1.       The presentation (updated document ‘where we are and what should be done”) is badly needed as a starting point for any moving ahead. By now it can be a 1-2 page document, and ideally Yuri Kargapolov and Dr.Sarmad would assist us to get this document as soon as possible.

2.       The role and priorities of the WG leader should be changed. WG leader should demonstrate more initiative and guidance on what is expected from the WG at every moment, though having generated discussions, he (or she) should not dictate any decisions, but moderate such discussion and look for the acceptable decision. This may be achieved by selecting a co-chairs and/or a deputy chairs, that are able to allocate more time and resources to the activities of the WG.

3.       F2f meeting would be a good option to accelerate our efforts. Yerevan (TLDCON) may be a good choice, while we have another opportunity to do this at ICANN’s office in Istanbul – the most convenient place for most of us. The agenda and timing should be discussed separately.

4.       We need to invite more people (experts) to the WG. Any suggestions are welcome, as it will help us to fill the remaining gaps.

Is it ok with You?
I think that this presentation we can use on similar meetings in the future, combining and erasing some slides to adapt for the specific public.

For a presenter, I would like to suggest that Yuriy take the stand, as a coordinator of the group.
Another possible way is to have two presenters, Dmitry and Yuriy. Whatever You prefer.
What You think?

And I would like to ask Sarmad for ppt template - I guess that You have something with ICANN logo.

And again, is there any volunteers for building presentation?
My suggestion is that we can split tasks and one can do content for one slide. At the end, I will fill into template.
Content can be in form of mail. Do You think it's ok?

I think also that we can use this kind of presentation for all future events (smaller ones, domestic, regional...) where we can show our work. Do You think it's ok?

 

Less is more in this case. Five-slide template is about right, Additional five slides can be added for content.

 

Assuming one minute per slide, ten minutes fit easily.

Dusan, thanks for clarification and explanation.

I confess, I missed one very important nuance - "out of the TLDCON agenda", i.e. outside the TLDCON agenda. I good remember the skeptical remark of Andrew Kolesnikov about "some special knowledge" during IDN session on TLDCON'14 :-).

So I think that in the frameworks of official program TLDCON we have not any chance for inclusion this point.

The idea of workshop is questionable. 

I already mentioned that I am member of PC, and the agenda (already full) doesn't include workshops at any kind.

To organize workshop - it can be in the form of one session or one side event (but TLDCON doesn't have side events). 

As far as I know, there is no possibility to organize workshop, but I will try to ask them.

 

But, first, I want to hear from the group, and as I sad already, I will help in any way I can, if the group wants to have something on this event.
