Thank you very much for your confirmation.
Your understanding is correct: you only need to respond if you have objections, concerns, or changes to the draft designation notice. If you have no objections, then your reply
is not required, and we would send the notice to the Secretary when we reach the proposed deadline.
However, if you have no objections and wish to communicate that fact before the deadline (rest assured, it is never a bother), then we can potentially send the notice to the
Secretary earlier. Section 7.8(d) of the Bylaws simply states that the ECA shall “promptly” provide the Secretary with written notice.
In this case, as we have confirmed no objections from the ECA membership (thank you, Jennifer, for your non-objection), we can proceed with sending the notice to the Secretary
today instead of tomorrow. I will remove the watermark from the Board Seat 15 Designation Notice and share with the Secretary shortly.

respond ONLY if I (or the GAC, that is) had any objections. That not being the case, I didn't think it was necessary to bother you.

Under the ICANN Bylaws, Section 7.8(d), "At least six months before the date specified for the commencement of the term as specified in Section 7.8(a)(iv) through Section 7.8(a)(vi) above, any Supporting Organization or the At-Large Community entitled to nominate a Director for a Seat with a term beginning that year shall give the EC Administration (with a copy to the Secretary and the Decisional Participants) written notice of its nomination of Directors for seats with terms beginning at the conclusion of the annual meeting, and the EC Administration shall promptly provide the Secretary (with a copy to the Decisional Participants) with written notice of the designation of those Directors. All such notices shall be posted promptly to the Website."
Accordingly, ECA support staff have prepared the attached draft Designation Notice for your review and consideration. Please respond to this list by 23:59 UTC Friday, 27 February, if you have any objections, concerns, or changes; otherwise, support staff will be happy to forward the notice to the Secretary on your behalf.
