Hi Maureen,

I am not “chair” of the ECA; we’ve never organized ourselves formally.  Informally,  I have “held the pen” so to speak, and thus in continuing in that role, I will execute a letter to the ICANN Corporate Secretary confirming the appointment of Akinori Maemura to Seat 10.

If you or any other ECA member has an issue with my continued lead role with regards to correspondence between the ECA and ICANN, please let me know.

Dear Empowered Community Administration,

As required under Section 7.2 of the ICANN Bylaws, please accept this
letter as formal notification from the Address Supporting Organization
(ASO) that Address Council of the ASO (ASO AC) has re-appointed Akinori
Maemura (Asia Pacific region) to Seat 10 on the ICANN Board of Directors.

On behalf of the ASO, I ask that the Empowered Community confirm its
Designation of Mr. Akinori Maemura to the Board. Maemura’s term is
scheduled to begin at the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting in
November 2019, Montreal.
