EURALO Board to be reconfirmed in Lisbon
Hello, as you perhaps may have seen in various recent mails, the current EURALO Board needs to be reconfirmed in Lisbon as well. The nomination period for Officers (Chair and Secretariat) and Board ends tomorrow Friday, 14 June -- nomination acceptance is on 17 June (what means soon)! So far, I have only seen expression of interests for continuation on the Board from Annette and Lutz. See: https://community.icann.org/display/EURALO/The+current+EURALO+Board For the upcoming GA it would be nice to get some more feedback from Board members. Please indicate whether you are interested to continue at least. Some more support from the next Board would be much appreciated as well. Dear all Like Bill Drake I have been a "board member" without a portfolio for some time. :-D. However I believe our nominations were based and supported by many of you due to his and my long standing support for EU-RALO, e.g. what it stands for, and what it should become, starting with an inclusion of global Internet user communities into the global bottom-up Internet governance dialogue, including ICANN issues. At this point I would like to express my interest to stay involved with EU-RALO board activities. I'd like to continue to work on bringing in EU RALO new members from the SEE region to the EU-RALO and promote EU-RALO activities. Soon I hope that either the Hacklab Belgrade or the Internet Society Belgrade Serbia chapter would join EU-RALO, at which point, other volunteers from the region can take a more active role within EU-RALO. However, if the board is too big and there are views that it is becoming too difficult to coordinate the EU-RALO board work, I am also willing to step down in order to make space for new members. Like Des, I am happy to stay on the board and would be interested to contribute in that context to some of the Euralo/At Large activities envisaged for the coming year, as well as to help a bit with civil society@ICANN's silo problem. However, if there is a broad feeling that the board needs to churn and bring in new faces, I would happy to step aside for someone with more bandwidth.
