Good afternoon:

As many of you will have learnt, I have been appointed as a co-chair of this subgroup about Geographic names.
Since this issue has a long history in ICANN, I have written the attached notes to outline the main lines and suggest certain directions for solutions.

I look forward to framing the issues and structure of the group with the PDP co-chairs and staff, in due course.

Your comments and advice would be welcome.
