Dear all,

you may be aware that there will be some changes this year regarding the EURALO leadership (at our next GA probably in autumn) and some first and *urgent nominations* for

a) NomCom 2016 and

b) our next regional selected ALAC member.

As we know from the past, such options are usually not manifold – finding people from our community to step in and investing two days per week (minimum) to fulfill such demanding tasks.

We repeatedly discussed these issues over the last weeks with our ALAC members and NomCom delegate and came up with a very first scenario:

- for NomCom 2016 – Wolf and Sebastien (suggested)

- for ALAC – Yrjö and Sebastien (suggested)

- for the next EURALO Chair – Olivier (suggested)

Please note: as we have several candidates for the same functions (NomCom and ALAC) already, we need to conduct an Online vote with support of At-Large Staff (what needs time to prepare and conduct by mobilizing our members).

Regarding timelines and process, please see details from At-Large Staff below. The deadline for NomCom and ALAC nominations is *15 May – next Friday*!

Please note that in order to allow enough time for nominations for the EURALO ALAC representative open positon and the ALAC Delegate to the NomCom from Europe open positon, we will have an extension to the previously announced selection timetable. Nominations for these positions will now be accepted through 15 May 2015.  The nominees have through 19 May to accept their nominations.

 

NEW EURALO Schedule:

 

The updated ALAC Selection Schedule for 2015 ALAC Representatives from EURALO is the following:

 

    30 April - Announcement of call for nominations and Nominee's Statement.*

    30 April - 15 May  - Nomination period (nominations accepted for 12 working days).

    19 May - Deadline for nomination acceptances

    20 May - 25 May 2015 - Elections (If required, elections will begin no later than one week after the deadline for nomination acceptances and end no later than two weeks after that deadline).

    26 May - Start of NomCom Delegate selection by ALAC

    2015 AGM [ ICANN 54 ]  - Newly elected ALAC representative shall be seated on the ALAC at the close of the 2015 AGM on Thursday, 22nd October 2015.

 

Process for Nominations:
 
All nominees are expected to submit a brief statement explaining why they believe they are a suitable candidate to At-Large staff.  All nominees must also complete or update their Statement of Interest (see: At-Large New SOIs Workspace).
 
Nominations, including self-nominations may be made directly on the 2015 ALAC and RALO Elections, Selections and Appointments or by sending a note to At-Large staff.
