Given the appraoching deadline, I would like to remind you about the ongoing European Commission’s targeted consultation on its stance regarding Internet governance, in preparation for key milestones in 2025 (WSIS+20) and in response to the Council’s request for the development of an EU strategy on multistakeholder governance. This initiative aims to gather insights from a broad range of stakeholders, including governments, business, technical experts, and civil society, to help shape the EU's position.

The consultation covers the following areas:

1. Coordinating and engaging EU Internet governance stakeholders
2. Transforming global stakeholder organizations for an inclusive, effective, and sustainable Internet
3. Anticipating the governance of emerging technologies
4. Strengthening Internet security and resilience

The EU’s commitment to supporting the multistakeholder model remains essential to maintaining a free, open, and interoperable Internet. As discussions around digital sovereignty and national security gain prominence, it is important to reinforce the value of a decentralized and inclusive approach to governance.

At-Large members, particularly those based in Europe, are encouraged to participate and provide their feedback on the future direction of Internet governance. Your input is crucial in ensuring the EU’s leadership in upholding core values such as data protection, human rights, and the rule of law in the digital space.
