Dear colleagues,

I am delighted to be able to announce to you that today, Tuesday 13th November 2018, Jörg Schweiger, representative for DENIC, Chair of the Board of Directors of CENTR, the Council of European National Top-Level Domain Registries, and I will be co-signing a Memorandum of Understanding for the Purpose of Collaboration between our respective organisations.

EURALO has already signed a similar memorandum with RIPE NCC at last year's ICANN meeting in Abu Dhabi. This time, we are mutually agreeing to collaborate by:

1) Regularly updating each other on areas and activities of mutual interest;

2) Encouraging awareness of each other’s activities and mission among their respective members;

3) Promoting Internet development in the European region by encouraging participation in fora relating to Internet standards, policy development and Internet governance;

4) Promoting an open, bottom-up, multistakeholder Internet governance model;

5) Raising awareness about the DNS and its importance in maintaining an open Internet;

6) Collaborating on joint capacity-building events and related activities of mutual interest, including meetings, training courses, projects and workshops in the areas of Internet policy and Internet governance.

If you are attending the Paris Internet Governance Forum, please join us for a small but historical signing ceremony that will take place at 18:20 at the AFNIC desk, which is the desk in the main entrance hall, opposite Hall 1. Jörg and I will sign the document and some group pictures will be taken. I hope that as many members of EURALO will be present for the group pictures and would also like to extend this invitation to participants from other RALOs to join for the pictures and the refreshments served afterwards.
