please see the updated call for candidates, including what would be expected of a candidate to be on the Selection Committee.
If you have any experience in reading CVs and assessing individuals and their suitability for a position, and if you are interested in dipping your toes into a process that's limited in time, will not be a heavy workload but at the same time, will be absolutely critical to the way the ALAC and the multi-stakeholder model works, this is for you. Don't hesitate to email me if you are considering the position but are unsure. Of course, if you are going to put your name in for any of the positions which the selection committee will select people for, then do not apply.

What is the CSC?
The Selection Committee's first task is going to have to select someone from the At-Large Community who will be able to sit on the "Customer Standing Committee" (CSC) which is a group of people who will closely monitor the performance of the organisation providing the IANA services. The bulk of the committee is made up of direct customers of the IANA function and the ALAC representative is a liaison, which means they'll have to relay what is happening in this committee back to the ALAC and also be the voice of the ALAC on this committee. So it's a pretty important position and the selection committee will have its work cut out to find the best candidate.
I hope this puts some perspective to the call for candidates to sit on the Selection Committee.

On behalf of Alan Greenberg, Chair of the ALAC, the call for candidates for the RALO representatives in the ALAC Appointee Selection Committee is now open.

 

Each RALO must select one (1) representative to the ALAC Appointee Selection Committee. The RALO representatives must not be the ALAC Leadership Team members (Alan Greenberg, Tijani Ben Jemaa, Leon Sanchez, Holly Raiche, and Sandra hoferichter). The names of the representatives must be sent to staff@atlarge.icann.org no later than 23:59 UTC on 14 July 2016.

 

Those appointed to the Selection Committee must be prepared to review the Expression of Interest for the ALAC Liaison to the Customer Standing Committee (CSC) position between 15 July and 18 July and attend a 2-hour teleconference on 18 July to discuss the ALAC Liaison candidates.


“For background, this Selection committee, composed of the ALAC Leadership Team (ALT) and five ALAC members and Chaired by Alan will receive and review Expressions of Interest for various ALAC appointments until the ends of the Hyderabad meeting. In addition to the immediate selection of CSC candidates, it is expected that during this time, we will have one or more A0C-type Review Committees and ALAC Liaison(s) which will require candidate searches."
