Dear EURALO Members: I'm pleased to be able to provide complete details related to the application of CLUSIT (Italy) to be an At-Large Structure. Note that this application has been pending for longer than normal due to the need for the staff to ask for and receive additional information from CLUSIT about their organisation, and for the Statutes to be translated from Italian into English. The result of these additional queries, and reading the Statutes, is that it seems to the Staff that this applicant meets all requirements for ALS status. Full information is provided on the due dilligence form attached. As per the process of ALS application analysis agreed by the ALAC, the region is now asked for their views on whether or not the application should be approved. You may provide your views in confidence to the Secretariat (Wolf and Jeanette) or of course I am at your service if I can be of any assistance in this regard. -- Regards, Nick Ashton-Hart Director, At-Large ICANN Main Tel: +33 (450) 40 46 88 USA Tel: +1 (202) 657-5460 Fax: +41 (22) 594-85-44 Mobile: +41 (79) 595 54-68 email: nick.ashton-hart@icann.org Win IM: ashtonhart@hotmail.com / AIM/iSight: nashtonhart@mac.com / Skype: nashtonhart Online Bio: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ashtonhart
Dear all, Nick provided the details of CLUSIT's ALS-application, an Italian organisation, some days ago and EURALO has to make up its mind (advise, commends, recommendations) regarding new applicants from our region. For further information about the new procedure please see the attached document. Jeanette asked Vittorio last week for further information about CLUSIT and Vittorio sent us the following: (Quote) "It's an association of professionals that work in the security field. I met a couple of them at the CCC in Berlin last December, also Annette met them. We tried to get them involved, and first it took some time for them to finish the application, then apparently this got stuck into the process and has been lying there for the last several months. For what I know of them, it's a standard group of techies and smart users, like Bret Fausett's or John Levine's groups." Nick and ALAC need our opinion about this applicant until next Monday 10.12.07 -- and I have not seen any further questions or remarks on this list. The documents submitted give no reason for any objections to me. Therefore I suggest: if no further questions are raised on this list until next Monday this can be considered as approval (incl. abstentions) from EURALO. In that case I would like to ask Nick to forward our approval to ALAC -- thanks! Wish you a peasant weekend. Best, Wolf Nick Ashton-Hart wrote Wed, 5 Dec 2007 08:28:
