Following its own bylaws, NARALO opened its call for nominations nearly two weeks ago; LACRALO will hold its call for nominations on 3 May until 10 May. Dear colleagues, the nomination period for leadership positions in EURALO ends at the end of this week. Earlier this week, I have informed the EURALO Board that I am not planning to run for another term as EURALO Chair. I have now been chair for 4 years already. That is plenty of time and we need some change in EURALO leadership to continue moving forward, otherwise we'll be complacent and stagnate. In the meantime, I am concerned that whilst some people have told me by email that they are nominating other people, I would kindly remind everyone that nominations have to be made on the EURALO mailing list and will be recorded on the EURALO election page as they come in. Dear Colleagues, Taking into account the mail below send by Olivier, I would like to make the following proposal (nominations ans self nomination) regarding the leadership positions open this year in EURALO. ALAC: Matthias Hudobnik NomCom: Erich Schweighofer Secretariat: Natalya Filina Chair: Sebastien Bachollet Regarding Nomcom position, Erich can be return and I think it Is a good practice to allow Nomcom members to do 2 years. It will be is last year and it will be good to take advantage of ATLAS III to find a futur « leader » from Euralo to join the Nomcom at the end of 2020. Regarding secretariat, Natalya as show an increasing involvement in Euralo and A-large activities since she participates to IGF Global in Paris. She will be able to grow in understanding our organisation if she can take this position. And Atlas III will also be a good opportunity. I must add that she is one of the few from Eastern Europe engage in our work and some gender balance is necessary. Regarding ALAC, Matthias also is more and more involved in Euralo and at-large activities. And Atlas III will also be a good opportunity. With Bastiaan (ALAC member since Feb 2017) and Joanna (NomCom appointe since end of 2018) ALAC member for one other year (at least) Matthias will be well supported. And I will also help him as long time participant in ALAC. Regarding Chair, I am ready to take this position to help the new leaders and future ones to be fully welcome in Euralo and At-large. Dear All,
On behalf of Maureen Hilyard, Chair of the ALAC, we would like to announce that the 2019 call for nominations is now open for positions to be filled as ALAC Members, RALO Leaders and ALAC Delegates to the NomCom for the AFRALO, APRALO and EURALO electorates.
Following its own bylaws, NARALO opened its call for nominations nearly two weeks ago; LACRALO will hold its call for nominations on 3 May until 10 May.
*Positions Open: * Please refer to the 2019 ALAC and RALO Elections, Selections and Appointments Workspace <https://community.icann.org/display/atlarge/2019+ALAC+and+RALO+Elections%2C+Selections+and+Appointments>for a comprehensive list of all available positions and whether current holders of the positions are eligible for re-selection.
*Terms:*
· *ALAC: *Terms for the ALAC will run from the end of the 2019 Annual General Meeting (AGM) to the end of the 2021 AGM.
· *RALO Leadership*: Terms for the RALO Leadership will be as noted on the individual RALO election pages. All terms will start at the end of the 2019 AGM.
· *ALAC Delegates to the NomCom: *Voting members of the NomCom are appointed for a one year term, starting at the close of the 2019 AGM and ending at the close of the 2020 AGM and may be re-appointed for a further term of one year subject to the requirement under the ICANN Bylaws <https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.icann.org_resources...> . Each RALO may make one or more recommendations for the consideration of the ALAC. The criteria for NomCom Delegates are shown at the end of this message.
*Selection Schedule for ALAC Members, RALO Leadership, and ALAC Delegates to the NomCom:*
- *29 April 2019 - Announcement of call for nominations and Nominee's Statement.* - *29 April – 10 May 2019 - Nomination period. * - *17 May 2019 - Deadline for nomination acceptances. * - *20 May – 22 May 2019- Calls with the candidates if desired by the RALOs.* - *23 May – 30 May 2019 - Elections (If required, elections will begin no later than one week after the deadline for nomination acceptances and end no later than two weeks after that deadline).* - *2019 AGM [ICANN 66] - Newly elected ALAC Members and RALOs Leaders shall be seated at the end of the 2019 AGM following the close of the Board Meeting on 7 November 2019.*
*Process for Nominations: * All nominees are expected to submit a brief statement explaining why they believe they are a suitable candidate to At-Large staff <staff@atlarge.icann.org>. All nominees must also complete or update their Statement of Interest (see: At-Large New SOIs Workspace <https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__community.icann.org_dis...> ).
Nominations, including self-nominations must be made directly to their RALO’s mailing list, as well as posted to the 2019 ALAC and RALO Elections, Selections and Appointments Workspace <https://community.icann.org/display/atlarge/2019+ALAC+and+RALO+Elections%2C+...> or by sending a note to At-Large staff <staff@atlarge.icann.org>.
*Criteria for NomCom Delegates*: The NomCom is responsible for selecting members of the ICANN Board, ALAC, ccNSO and GNSO. This is a very important function and all candidates should meet important criteria.
· Familiarity with the ICANN groups to which the NomCom appoints (Board, ALAC, GNSO, ccNSO).
· Ability to judge people (such as when interviewing and hiring).
· Comfortable and preferably fluent with English (listening, reading, speaking).
· Good on-line skills such as on Google & Social media.
· Time Commitment - Must be willing to devote substantial time under tight deadlines (March-June). Will involve travel to up to 4 meetings.
· Ability work in a group environment, standing up for what you believe in a discussion with other "strong" people, but at the same time, must be a good listener and be willing to change your mind if someone else has a good argument. Diplomacy is important.

Doit être dispose à consacrer beaucoup de temps dans des délais serrés (mars à juin). Cela impliquera de voyager jusqu’à 4 réunions. - Capacité de travailler dans un environnement de groupe, defender ce que vous croyez dans une discussion avec d’autres personnes “fortes” mais en même temps, doit être un bon auditeur et être prêt à changer d’avis si quelqu’un d’autre à un bon argument. La diplomatie est importante.
