Your input needed: EURALO Strategy document is currently being built
Dear Colleagues, as a follow-up to prior discussions where it became quite clear that EURALO needed to work on planning its future more pro-actively, Wale Bakare, Vice Chair of the EURALO Individuals Association sent me a first draft of their proposal for a EURALO Strategic plan at the beginning of the summer. After some discussion, it is now time to share this with everyone and gain input from all EURALO members, ALSes and individual members alike. To do that, we've prepared a new WIKI page called EURALO Strategy: https://community.icann.org/x/Qh8hB On this page you'll find a link to a Google DOC which has the "EURALO Strategy 2017". Please go to the Google DOC and comment on this first draft. The drafting of the EURALO Strategy document takes place alongside the EURALO Hot Topics document and the EURALO Outreach Strategy. Our target date for receiving comments and input is the end of September. That's the whole month of September to discuss Strategy and Hot Topics! We need your input. Thanks Olivier, this is very welcome. I’ve gone through the doc and offered several edits. In particular, I have highlighted the individual user’s association with the aim of ensuring completion of the goal stated below is a priority : To continue to encourage individuals' participation and voluntary service in EURALO and ICANN Working Groups. Dear all, This document by Wale is a good starting point. It is - naturally enough - written from the standpoint of individual users, and needs editorial balancing so that the role of our ALS'es comes to play. In addition, a few words could be devoted to the domestic role of the ALS'es, as established organizations in their own context and as an element of the multistakeholder cooperation in each country. They are quite different from each other, but since they all have wanted to become ALS's, they probably share a positive attitude towards ICANN and can influence other stakeholders on the local level - including the government - in that direction. To help ALS's to become more effective and valuable participants of the multistakeholder scene of their countries should also be part of EURALO's mission. Of course, this applies to all RALO's, but we should - once again - present good practices for others to adopt.
