Digital Freedom Fund Grants – Call for Applications and Participatory Decision-Making Pilot
Dear Colleagues, As a long-time collaborator with the Digital Freedom Fund (DFF https://digitalfreedomfund.org/grants/), I wanted to highlight their current call for grant applications, which runs from 2 December 2024 to 17 February 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure funding for strategic litigation or pre-litigation research that advances human rights in the digital sphere, with an emphasis on issues such as privacy, platform accountability, net neutrality, and human rights-compliant technologies. This cycle also features a participatory decision-making pilot, offering a novel and inclusive approach to grant allocation. It’s an exciting opportunity for applicants to engage not only in receiving funding but also in shaping how digital rights are supported across Europe. As someone deeply involved in global digital governance processes, I can personally vouch for the relevance and impact of DFF’s support for strategic litigation. Their focus areas align closely with our work in ensuring a free, open, and rights-based internet. I encourage everyone to consider applying or sharing this opportunity with your networks. If you have questions about eligibility, thematic priorities, or the application process, please feel free to reach out. I’d be happy to answer any questions or provide further insights based on my experience working with DFF and other governance bodies. -- Kind regards, Joanna Kulesza ------------------- Joanna Kulesza, PhD Professor of International Law Lodz Cyber Hub / University of Lodz Law School / Poland www.cyber.uni.lodz.pl (EURALO ALS 341) ALAC / EURALO / ALAC Liaison to the GAC
