Re: [EURO-Discuss] European Speaker for Ceremony
I leave it to you to pick the five - just please tell me soon as I have had to script this entire event due to the number of people involved, coming on and off the stage :) We will have you all come on at once, at the podium, as if you were all accepting an Oscar or something :) On 28/03/07, Wolfgang Kleinwächter <wolfgang.kleinwaechter@medienkomm.uni-halle.de> wrote:
Many faces and many languages is better than many languages and one face. If we have five langauges and five people - 40 second each - we have 2 minutes. The rest of three minutes can be used by one person who say three sentence with subsance, but this three sentence should be agreed by the ALS and should include also a reference to the EURALO as the joint European platform of ALS and partner of the MoU.

Right. This must be an entertaining performance, not a political tribune.
My proposal to Rudi would be to have ONE person saying like "Welcome to Euralo" in all the languages of the ALSes. Whoever is at ease with foreign languages getsto do it. Short, simple and hopely funny.

There is literally a total of five minutes to do this and the staging is already quite tight - we simply cannot run over. Having three different people come forward, talk, and then call the next forward will take lots of time which could be spent by one person saying more...
