The first public event will be held in Rome, on 20-21 May 2014 and will be structured as a forum for informed discussion. It will be opened by a session on "On-line mass surveillance, security and privacy: is an international treaty the only way forward?" After this session, there will be three half-day thematic sessions aimed at mapping the emerging and most contentious issues in the three areas of Internet Governance, Privacy and Intellectual property rights with a focus on discussing viable pathways for remedies and solutions. Each session will feature a facilitated discussion among the participants, introduced by one or more key-note speeches. We've insisted that the civil society be active in these sessions, as one of the key stakeholders on all these aspects, so now they have also asked me to help them with some names. So - would you be interested to participate drop me and email off-list and I'll send you more details and a formal invitation.
