How are you addressing the challenges of GDPR?
Dear colleagues, as you know, the General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR, is a big topic at ICANN, if only because the WHOIS databases of domain name registrant contains personal information of European Citizens. ICANN has a Web page about Data Protection/Privacy Issues that is on https://www.icann.org/dataprotectionprivacy At EURALO, we have conducted several webinars to address different angles of GDPR. - 2018-01-24 At-Large Capacity Building Webinar: "Data Protection: What do you need to know as End-Users about GDPR” https://community.icann.org/x/wgW8B This Webinar included presentations from Chuck Gomes and Thomas Rickert to explain GDPR and how it relates to end users - 2018-02-19 EURALO Webinar on General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) https://community.icann.org/x/nhS8B This Webinar had Thomas Rickert, Pierre Bonis, Michele Neylon and Athina Fragkouli explain to us how their organisation worked towards GDPR *implementation*. This was hugely popular. *Our next Webinar is going to turn the tables around: how is your organisation addressing GDPR? What is it doing? Where did it learn about GDPR? Tell us and share your experience!* And also as an individual - many of us are members of other membership organisations - how are they addressing concerns brought forward by GDPR? Can you volunteer to share your experience? Volunteers will be given approximately 5 minutes to present their experience. The time of the call will be decided based on the availability of all the people that will have volunteered, but is expected within the next month. If you would like to volunteer, please email staff@atlarge.icann.org, copying me ( ocl@gih.com) as well as Yrjö Länsipuro <yrjo_lansipuro@hotmail.com> and Annette Muehlberg <annette.muehlberg@verdi.de> Kindest regards, Olivier MJ Crépin-Leblond EURALO Chair
Hi everyone, two weeks ago, I asked the question below, if your ALS could share what they've done about GDPR? Only a couple of ALSes responded to my in private. So - would anyone else like to volunteer? We only need something like 5 minutes of you to present how your ALS is taking steps to comply with the GDPR.
