Good morning. I have a question. I have read again the election rules but have not found the limitation to vote for one candidate per country. My reading of the rule is that the resulting Board cannot have more than one member per country, but this does not translate necessarily in a limitation for the voters but only in the result. Can you please clarify? Thanks, Roberto On 09.12.2017, at 00:59, ICANN At-Large Staff <staff@atlarge.icann.org<mailto:staff@atlarge.icann.org>> wrote: Dear All, Kindly note that the vote for selecting 2017 EURALO Board Members is now open. Dear Roberto, this is how we set it up in the last elections. We decided to do the same thing, this time around, so as to not confuse people. if there is support for not having this rule at *voting* level, but just at selection level, then I am ready to remove it. Does anyone else wish to have this rule removed at voting level? Ie. voters can vote for anyone, but the composition of the EURALO Board will take into account the "1 person per country" rule. Olivier, I will stick, of course, with what will be decided by the majority, but if we keep this limitation in the ballot rather than to have it only for the resulting composition of the Board I will find myself in the awkward situation of not being able to vote for one of the candidates that I have nominated, because they share the same nationality. Hi Olivier, I have to agree with Roberto that the current geo limitation at voting level is probably counter productive. We should not be limiting the choice presented to voters. Choices should be made based on individual candidates’ perceived qualities. Once those choices are made, then whatever the outcome needs to be submitted to the Board’s geo composition rules, but not before. Dear all, I also support Roberto's idea it makes to me more sense and the oucome might be fruitfuler if there is not such a limitation at the voting level already. Have a nice day! Best, Matthias ____________________________ Ing. Matthias Markus Hudobnik matthias@hudobnik.at http://www.hudobnik.at
