Thank you for your feedback on the timeline. Can you please be more specific? 

I'm attaching slides with a more detailed breakdown of the project plan, showing the proposed time allotted for each phase of this project identified in the plan. If there are specific aspects of this project plan that you think should be longer, please explain (a) which ones they are, (b) why more time is needed, and (c) how much time you think should be allotted to that specific task.

These are draft slides from our working meeting in Hyderabad, and we will be discussing this in much greater detail there. But any additional feedback you could provide this week would be very helpful.

Also, as a reminder, we would very much welcome the IRT's feedback on whether you believe the proposed contract-based accreditation approach fulfills the intent of the Final Recommendations. 

Theo, to answer your question, the GAC advice was not discussed during this IRT call. Members of the GAC's PSWG have been invited to participate on this IRT and three have volunteered. The Board's resolution approving the Final Recommendations noted that the Board "will consider the GAC's advice and provide input to the Implementation Review Team for consideration in implementation planning."

Hi Amy,

The timeline seems indeed aggressive, has the GAC advise been discussed last week and how we as an IRT should deal with this? The board advice was pretty vague on that some weeks ago in my opinion.

And if the transcript could become available that would be great. I rather speed read through these things than listen to a recording when I miss a call.

Nobody is interested in delaying this process, but it’s better to do 
it once properly rather than try to rush it. There are quite a few 
other activities either ongoing on in the pipeline that require 
registrars input and action, so we need to be realistic about how much 
bandwidth people will be able to focus on this work.

All--I attached the annex to the PDF using Acrobat Pro’s attachment 
feature, but it may not have been accessible to non-Pro users. I’ve 
attached it here (I also updated the attachment to correct a typo and 
to add gridlines to make this easier to read) and will also upload to 
the wiki.

Also, all, this is a reminder that we hope to receive at least 
preliminary feedback from you by our Friday deadline so that we can 
incorporate it into our presentations and discussion plans for 
ICANN57. And if anyone would like to participate on the Panel on 
Friday the 4th, we are still looking for volunteers. I sent around 
invites for our sessions at ICANN57, and will update them later this 
week with agendas and specific discussion items, if any.

Amy, thanks for circulating this material. Sorry I could not make the 
call last week, and apologies if the question below was addressed 
there.

The explanatory memorandum refers twice to an Annex 1 (see nn.2 and 
4).  But no Annex 1 was attached and I was not able to find it on the 
Wiki page.  Could you point me to it please?

Regarding the questions you posed, I don’t have any reason to think 
that the timeline you propose is too aggressive, but look forward to 
hearing from others on the IRT who may have a different view.

I’m also attaching the first discussion draft of the Privacy/Proxy 
Services Accreditation Program Framework, which I sent around to the 
list last week. PLEASE REVIEW THIS DOCUMENT WHEN YOU ARE ABLE AND 
PROVIDE YOUR FEEDBACK, QUESTIONS, CONCERNS, ETC NO LATER THAN 28

Specifically, ICANN seeks IRT feedback on whether you believe this

A few notes from the call

Two IRT volunteers expressed concerns about the aggressiveness of the
timeline. STAFF REQUESTS SPECIFIC FEEDBACK FROM THE IRT REGARDING WHAT 
ELEMENTS OF THE PLAN SEEM TOO AGGRESSIVE AND/OR SHOULD BE REVISITED 
(AND WHY).

One IRT volunteer expressed a positive view of the timeline
One IRT volunteer questioned whether this implementation will need to
be complete before the next round of new gTLDs

Multiple IRT volunteers cautioned about the need to consider
international data privacy and other laws throughout this 
implementation. Staff committed to a continued assessment of data 
privacy issues throughout this process.

Next Steps

Two sessions are scheduled at this topic for ICANN57—a presentation
of the overall proposal and an IRT working meeting. Staff is looking 
for volunteers for the IRT to participate in the “presentation”
session and we hope that all of you can attend the working meeting but 
for those who can’t, materials and recordings will be posted.

It was proposed that we have regularly scheduled IRT meetings. We
will discuss preferred dates/times/schedule at our next meeting at 
Hyderabad and then will set up the regular meetings.

are other items you would like to highlight for those who could not 
attend the kickoff call.
