I have a clarifying question/concern (yes my attempt at a little IRT humor) on the proposed process of tomorrow's meeting.
First, I do not believe that all of my questions, which were submitted in a timely manner, have a recommendation associated with them or which you initially identified as out of scope. Therefore, I feel it would be more beneficial to walk through the entire document, focusing on all the questions, not just those with recommendations. I think it is important that the IRT address all these questions in a timely manner. While I understand that some questions will require further actions by ICANN Org, I believe the entire IRT should have a discussion on these questions.
If we only focus on questions that have a recommendation, there's a risk that some important issues might get overlooked. I see some of these questions as gating questions, and I believe they all deserve our attention at the beginning of the process.
Just an FYI. While I expect to be on tomorrow’s call, I am currently on jury duty standby and may be called in over the next week. Therefore, I may miss tomorrow’s call which would be unfortunate as I believe I was the primary question/comment submitter. If I will not be able to attend tomorrow’s call, I will send an email to the list after 5 PM ET this evening.

Glad to hear my reply was helpful to you, John, and I provided a bit of relief too. You actually helped me to realize that I need to do more to communicate on the process so here is more to the whole IRT.
Dear IRT,
Tomorrow’s IRT call will be focused on clarifying questions. After a brief overview, I plan to walk us down each recommendation (not each question) and pause to discuss where IRT needs a discussion.
Please review the Q&A again today as more questions were added potentially needing your reply.
Here I am calling on the members from the following group to answer the questions posed to them.
I am not asking for a Stakeholder position or an official communication from a group but a simple information if you happened to have it. We are looking for efficiency and accuracy of direct communication as much as possible leveraging the collective power of the IRT we have here.
To be clear, there are many questions, and we can’t review all of them together on the call. Therefore, I ask everyone to review the Q&A prior to our meeting. If a discussion on a question gets lengthy, I’ll view this as a concern rather than a clarifying question and ask that we take that up on our next calls when we are addressing the concerns.

- IRT membership is open to anyone at any time; therefore, not too late if other members would like to join to participate directly.
- There was no call for Stakeholder call for comments. All comments from individual or groups are welcome at this point as you may note from the Commentable document. There will be a time when the Stakeholder Representatives will be asked for action, but this will be made very clear at that time.
- Yes, the due date for Clarifying Questions on Recommendations is passed but I invite you to make comments on your personal capacity now on specific recommendations language. If members of your group have questions, you may comment also provided that you have clarity on their questions and be able to discuss it as needed.
- Our goal is to cover all Questions (not Concerns) by Thursday and discuss them as needed on our Thursday IRT call. If we don’t finish, we can continue the effort via the collaborative doc and email. I’ll explain this further at our next IRT meeting.
- Please note that the IRT Task for Comments on Concerns is due on 18 August 2024, so you still have a couple of weeks. We designed this as sequential steps so that everyone has a common understanding about the recommendation before considering Concerns.
I hope this makes it clear that there was no call to action for the Representatives.
All work done now is for the IRT members in their own capacity, but their questions may include the questions they received from their stakeholders.

Hi Dennis,
I had seen Luc Seufer's comment about offering his input in his personal capacity rather than on behalf of the RrSG. This being my first time representing an SG, it raised a concern on my part as to how to proceed. I just got off a call the Samantha Demitriou, Beth Bacon, Karen Day, and Jeff Neuman (the newly elected Vice Chair Administration) who together briefed me (consistent with Luc's statement that led me to ask.)
While I am behind one week in meeting your 2 Aug deadline, I hope that my inexperience won't keep the RySG (and or me) from offering Questions and Comments. If so, please advise, as I understand your link today appears to draw a line under such inputs. We have a RySG call each Wed, and last week I reached out and again circulated the information and URLs (first sent with "still time to join with SOI" notices), and announced that we'd be seeking Questions and Concerns this week.
If it's not too late, I'll be sharing three points with the group hoping for a level of RySG consensus (so, if it's too late by now to add to it, I'd appreciate knowing BEFORE our meeting at 11AM EDT on Wed, 7 Aug so I don't waste everybody's time.) My bad. Otherwise, I'll likely be submitting three items for consideration as my own personal questions and comments, and so noted.
If you'd like to see the write-up, please let me know and I'll send you the text of what I hope to have reason to share with the RySG members in attendance on Wed.

We expect that this document will get busy soon, and we plan to collect, sort, and track all comments in the IRT workbook.
