Board approves GAC scorecard, including provision on Privacy/Proxy IRT
Hi All, On Tuesday, the Board approved the GAC scorecard, "GAC Advice <https://www.icann.org/en/system/files/files/resolutions-helsinki56-gac-advi ce-scorecard-13dec16-en.pdf> -Helsinki Communique Actions and Updates," which includes information relevant to the Privacy and Proxy Service Provider Accreditation Program IRT (see p. 3-4). The Board resolution "encourages the Implementation Review Team to continue to work with the Public Safety Working Group to address the concerns expressed by the GAC regarding accreditation of privacy/proxy service providers." To that end, staff is working to set up a meeting with interested members of the PSWG in early January to discuss (a) the process for developing a proposed law enforcement disclosure framework for discussion with the IRT, (b) the scope and limits of the Final Policy Recommendations with respect to this framework and (c) the time-sensitive nature of this process. If you want participate in a subgroup on this topic, please let me know. It may be a couple of months before the subgroup meets (to give the PSWG time to develop a strawman proposal to be vetted through the subgroup before presentation to the full IRT). All of the work on this topic and details of the process will be posted on the public wiki. Also, as an update-we are working on an illustrative timeline that will show how we might compress this project timeline to match the new RAA interim specification expiration date (1 January 2018). This is being reviewed internally and I expect to be able to share it with you next week. Also, I'm doing everything I can to have draft Policy documents for our 10 January meeting ready and approved for distribution to you by the end of next week. Best, Amy Amy E.
