PAscal Haddad:Hello Glen de Saint Gery:welcome Pascal! Lars Hoffmann:Hello everybody. Chris Dillon:Hello everyone Pitinan Kooarmornpatana:Hi everyone :) Petter Rindforth:Hi there! Amr Elsadr:Hi all. Glen de Saint Gery:Welcome Amr! you missed the roll call but you will be on the attendance list Amr Elsadr:Thanks Glen. Apologies for being late. Amr Elsadr:Can the document on the screen please be desynched? Peter Green (CONAC):Hi, all, sorry for being late here Amr Elsadr:@Chris: It'd be helpful if edits in the final draft are red-lined. Amr Elsadr:Thanks. Petter Rindforth:I see 39 - 46 Amr Elsadr:So do I. Amr Elsadr:Text is a little small. Amr Elsadr:If the document is desynched, folks can zoom in and out according to personal preference. :) Lars Hoffmann:amr. i am happy to un-synch. but then we won't see what chris sees. i have just sent the document to the list again so you can open it in parallel too. hope that is a good compromise? Lars Hoffmann:done :) Amr Elsadr:Thnx. :) Amr Elsadr:It'd probably also be a good idea to provide a link to the initial report with the comment review tool, so that folks can cross check the comments submitted against the initial report. Amr Elsadr:There is a conflict between numbers 74 and 22. Petter Rindforth:and what about 75 vs 22 ;-) Amr Elsadr:To be honest, not sure what to make of 75. Recommendations made by the EWG are not binding. :) Petter Rindforth:ok, thanks Amr Elsadr:They are still subject to a post-EWG PDP. :) Amr Elsadr:@Jim: Certainly agree. Just wondering if we can also somehow address the IPC's concerns. Amr Elsadr:We could have a clear recommendation stating that this should be included in the issues report for the post-EWG PDP. Jim Galvin:+1 to Amr Amr Elsadr:@Petter: I hope that helps, even if just a little. :) Chris Dillon:https://community.icann.org/download/attachments/52894856/T%26T_Amended_Draf... Petter Rindforth:Amr, well it's at least something + Amr Elsadr::) Amr Elsadr:I won't make the 14th of May meeting. PAscal Haddad:Hello Petter Rindforth:Can be made quickly to give us an iea of the status until our next meeting PAscal Haddad:Can you hear me PAscal Haddad:Ok I am very happy PAscal Haddad:to be meeting with you all PAscal Haddad:I am just new here but I have a qick PAscal Haddad:quick PAscal Haddad:question Amr Elsadr:@Pascal: Make sure your audio is switched on by clicking on the phone icon at the top left of the screen. PAscal Haddad:Can;t we have sample of the data ? with PAscal Haddad:all languages PAscal Haddad:and PAscal Haddad:is PAscal Haddad:data cleaning PAscal Haddad:part of the PAscal Haddad:transliteration PAscal Haddad:? Amr Elsadr:Some examples posted here: https://community.icann.org/display/tatcipdp/5++Examples+of+Addresses Amr Elsadr:Unfortunately, Arabic not included. :) Amr Elsadr:Multiple languages use Arabic script too. :) Amr Elsadr:No vowels in Arabic. :) Amr Elsadr:We use tashkeel, which serves the same purpose. PAscal Haddad:but i think PAscal Haddad:it s mostly PAscal Haddad:about PAscal Haddad:standardizing names , areas PAscal Haddad:and cities PAscal Haddad:etc.. PAscal Haddad:like PAscal Haddad:you can write PAscal Haddad:Mohammed PAscal Haddad:or Mohammad PAscal Haddad:or Mohamad PAscal Haddad:or Mohamed PAscal Haddad:etc.. PAscal Haddad:you are totally right for example Lebanon PAscal Haddad:is a country in the Middle East PAscal Haddad:and exists Amr Elsadr:@Pascal: Yes, we explored such issues. What could also be confusing if the same person tranliterates his/her name differently when registering domain names with different registrars making cross referencing problematic. One of the many reasons using the original script/language is easier. PAscal Haddad:as areas PAscal Haddad:in the US Pitinan Kooarmornpatana:thanks Amr Elsadr:Thanks all. Bye. Sara Bockey:thank you all PAscal Haddad:Thanks Jim Galvin:Thanks all bye PAscal Haddad:Bye all Chris Dillon:Goodbye Julie Hedlund:Thanks everyone. Bye! Peter Green (CONAC):Bye, all Petter Rindforth:Thanks for a good meeting
