Good point, Graeme. I'm coming from the POV of someone not deeply involved in the dominating IANA / Accountability discussions. I haven't heard of ICANN announcing in any way that they are holding off on other WG activities to prioritize IANA / Accountability. It seems like this could be done in a more coordinated or transparent manner and I remain interested in how this decision was reached and what other groups have been impacted.

Frankly, as someone involved in the IANA transition, and one of the two active contracted parties in this working group, the break is quite welcome.
Many within the community, especially the contracted partied are stretched thin.

Andrew, your questions are good and legitimate, and i would like to know the same. Is it possible that ICAN cannot support any other activity? Are we all expected to deal with single subject?

Will 2000 people that are expected in Singapore deal with only one subject? If so, somebody please let me know in advance and spare me the trip. Thank you.

pozdrav, Nenad

Steve,

This strikes me as strange. I read your response to mean that ICANN has prioritized IANA and Accountability discussions to the point that it can't also facilitate ongoing work in other community WGs. I'd like to know who made this decision and why it was made without consulting the WG.

Thanks for providing further context. Best,

A

Dear WG Members,

I will echo the happy new year sentiment from Pam and Gabriel.

Meetings are expected to resume shortly after the ICANN Singapore meeting. As well, there will not be a face to face session in Singapore as the focus of that meeting is intended to be the IANA stewardship transition and ICANN accountability.

Best,

Steve

Hi everyone,

I belated Happy New Year!

The email below from Steve seems to be the last on the list. I was wondering if the group will meet again in January and in Singapore next month.

Kind regards,

Pam

Dear WG Members,

Please note that tomorrow’s meeting at 21:00 UTC is cancelled. Staff will be performing research internally to advance the work and we anticipate reconvening the full group in January.

Best,
