20 June 2025 Meeting Notes

AI: Staff to ask compliance to send answers 24 hours early so we can discuss it on our next call on the 26th

AI: Set deadline for SG/Cs for input to list of gaps on Wednesday 2 July 2025. ST members to share input via email or insert in the google document directly on behalf of their SG.

AI: Staff to set meetings to the top of the hour

AI: Aim to deliver recommendations to Council by August.

Review of ICANN83 and brief mention of GAC Communique on DNS Abuse

2. Discussion Feedback on Gap Document (20min)

Discussion of the cluster and number of issues. It does not mean that everything will be a PDP
Some already are not appropriate for policy making
Mentioned that ICANN org published an insights and clarification on the INFERMAL study
Idea was each stakeholder group would report back to their representatives in the Small Team and then they could add it in the google sheet. An email was also appropriate
Discussed the sheet and noted that many have not updated this as they are awaiting feedback from their respective groups
Query about asking clarifying questions of the authors of the NetBeacon report. A: it would be good to have actual questions to send over to authors so please come up with direct questions
Compliance has been sent the questions and will respond prior to our next meeting

Assess impact of ICANN contract amendments yellow check mark as we need to analyze the response from compliance

3. Discussion Timeline (20min)

July Council meeting is too soon, so August seems more likely
Bulk of next call will be input from compliance as well as SG/Cs
If the small team wants to propose an issue report for August there will also be a public comment. The role of the issue report is to identify gaps and not provide solutions.
If there are additional questions for compliance, please have that is the group input
Deadline for input on this part, there will be additional opportunities to weigh in further including public comment

4. Preliminary Discussion on potential recommendations to Council (15min)

Balancing this timeline we still need to be thorough to see if there are additional questions for compliance
