Extending IDN EPDP Team Call to 90 Minutes

Dear EPDP Team members, Staff are following up on the question about extending our weekly call to 90 minutes. 13:30-15:00 UTC on Thursday seems to be the timeslot that can accommodate all time zones represented in the EPDP Team, although it can be challenging for some regions. If there is no objection from the EPDP Team, staff will start scheduling future calls in that slot (starting on 18 November). If you have objection or any concerns, please share on the mailing list by COB Thursday, 11 November. Ariel cc as above Good morning; thank you for this. I understand that, in many circumstances, a 90 minute session may be needed, but I do not think we should automatically assign 90 minutes for all sessions, this decision perhaps resting with the Chair depending on the proposed agenda. best Nigel On Thu, 4 Nov 2021 at 19:31, Ariel Liang <ariel.liang@icann.org> wrote:

Hello Nigel and all, As some members mentioned during the call, even though a call is scheduled for 90 minutes, a meeting can end earlier if all agenda items are covered. It would be harder to extend the meeting to 90 minutes on an ad-hoc basis rather than cutting a meeting short. It is also difficult to predict the time needed for deliberation based on the proposed agenda, but the experience in the past couple of months has shown that 60 minutes has been insufficient to allow the EPDP Team to finish deliberation according to the workplan/timeline. Hope this background helps. Hello Ariel, Thx for the update. My agenda is conflicting with a start a 13:30 UTC (the whole year). I can only start a meeting an hour or half later. @__f_f__ Best regards ____________________________________ Lt-Colonel Farell FOLLY, Ir GNSO Councillor linkedin.com/in/farellf

Hi All Just following up on Ariel’s email. It is important that we receive your feedback. As Ariel noted in her reply to Nigel, the experience in the past couple of months has shown that 60 minutes has been insufficient to allow the EPDP Team to finish deliberation according to the workplan/timeline we submitted to the GNSO Council. I appreciate we’ve had a few hiccups with leadership changes etc. that have slowed us down, but if folks could find an extra 30 minutes a week in their schedule, I do think it would be beneficial to our work. Thanks for considering.
