Dear all, Thanks to Georgias for sharing this. In fact, Georgias and I were in the same room at the European Commission when this was presented by Peter von Roste. :-) I would like to share a few additional thought and information as I have had the pleasure of hearing that same presentation a few hours later again at the CENTR meeting. In particular the part about validation has caused reactions from the ccTLD operators. Please understand that the term verification or validation can mean many different things, so we do not know what exactly is done. It can be limited to e.g. checking that syntactically correct strings are put into the e-mail field (i.e. checking whether the string contains an @ and a dot). So this is to be handled with caution. Also, the contractual setup differs from the gTLD world and within the ccTLD world. Some have direct contracts with RNHs (where registrars are more or less agents), others have registrars that contract with customers. I do applaud CENTR for having conducted the study, but let me just caution our team not to jump to conclusions for our work as a result of it. All the best, Thomas
