Unfortunately, I have a conflict. I might be able to join part way
through, but it appears unlikely. I will fill in the Google Doc
prior to the meeting.

Dear All,
Following on from Sebastien’s message, in order to take advantage of
the opportunity to meet in person in KL, we would like to suggest
scheduling an informal session on Thursday 22 September at 10.30 local
time (2.30 UTC). It will be in a sign up room, but we will set up a zoom
room so that anyone remote, including Sebastien, are able to connect and
participate. You should be receiving a calendar invite with further
details shortly. We appreciate that this is short notice but hopefully
you will be able to find the time to attend.
Best regards,
Marika

Subject: [GNSO-EPDPP2-SmallTeam] Please respond to the Google Doc
questions
Dear Team,
Good morning all,
As we are listening to the Welcome Ceremony this morning, can I invite
all members attending in person to try to meet locally and continue our
Saturday discussion?
Please go to the Google Doc and log your thoughts and initial responses
on Staff’s paper (attached) :
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1tnwab_egkFklsfxmrSV6Ii4as13gKFsE/edit
[nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com].
We will have later today a GAC + GNSO bilateral where I will be asked to
present the work of our team.
First thing tomorrow morning I will present on the same at the Board +
GNSO bilateral.
I must stress that at this point, as we are opening the week, I do not
have any guidance as to what the Small Team is considering as next
step.
In particular, I could not gather from our Saturday discussion if we had
any interest in pursuing a fast track to ensuring this project is
scheduled for development work during the 1st half of 2023.
As I am about to present our work to the Board tomorrow and as will need
to ask them to confirm some of the assumptions we are making towards the
fast track; as I will present our work to Council on Wednesday; please
help me getting a sense of the room by answering the Google Doc
questions, by responding on the mailing list, or by reaching out to me
personally, I am not physically present but very much up from 3 am my
time to engage.
Kindly,
Sebastien Ducos

sessions & review template

Dear All,
In preparation for the EPDP Phase 2 Small Team meetings at ICANN75,
please find here by the proposed agenda’s for the two sessions that
have been scheduled:
Session 1 – Saturday 17 September from 15.00 – 16.00 KL time
(
https://75.schedule.icann.org/meetings/dXbsEW5y87jNXu9ib
[nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com])
- Welcome & introductions (Sebastien Ducos)
- Presentation of Whois Disclosure System Design Paper (ICANN Org)
- Q & A
Session 2 – Saturday 17 September from 16.30 – 17.30 KL time
(
https://75.schedule.icann.org/meetings/qm9iHL6YmTSpMoJHQ
[nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com])
- Small team initial reactions to Whois Disclosure System Design Paper:
- Does the Whois Disclosure Design align with the expectations as set
out in the small team’s preliminary report? If not, why not and what
would need to be modified for these expectations to be met?
- Will implementation of Whois Disclosure System deliver the
information to help inform Council – Board coonsultations on cost-benefit
of SSAD recommendations? As a reminder, implementation of the Whois
Disclosure System is expected to provide clarity on next steps which
could include:
- Approval of EPDP Phase 2 SSAD recommendations (in current or modified
format) which would replace the Whois Disclosure System;
- Determination that adoption of EPDP Phase 2 SSAD recommendations is
not in the best interest of the ICANN community or ICANN and termination
of the Whois Disclosure System;
- Modification of EPDP Phase 2 SSAD recommendations by GNSO Council
informed by the Whois Disclosure System findings;
- A variation and/or combination of the above scenarios.
- Next steps & approach to provide small team feedback to the GNSO
Council:
- How much time is needed to digest information and consult with
respective groups?
- Would further informal dialogue with Board Caucus be helpful?
- Confirm next steps & next meeting
To document the small team’s review of the Whois Disclosure System
design and facilitate the formulation of the small team’s feedback to
the Council, the staff support team has collaborated with Sebastien on
the following review template:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1tnwab_egkFklsfxmrSV6Ii4as13gKFsE/edit
[nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com]. Please have a look at this
in advance of the meeting to see if there are any questions missing that
you think the small team should be addressing.
Best regards,
Marika
