We herewith wish to request, on behalf of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), that the list of reserved National
Red Cross and Red Crescent names and identifiers as initially submitted to the IRT be
revised and complemented, in accordance with agreed rules and processes, to include a series of new identifiers for the Bhutan Red Cross Society
The Bhutan Red Cross Society was recognized by the ICRC on 30 November 2019
as the 192nd National Society within the International Red Cross and Crescent Movement.
We are attaching herewith a table of names/identifiers of the Bhutan Red Cross Society in English and in Dzonkha
(Bhutan’s official language) prepared in accordance with agreed criteria. The list is composed of a total of 12 identifiers.
We are also attaching herewith the references of the Bhutan Red Cross Society’s Facebook page in English to illustrate that the National Society’s
name is in use.

In accordance with discussions held during the last IRT Conference Call, please do decide when the adaptation of the reserved list of National Red
Cross and Red Crescent Societies’ names should best be considered and implemented.
