IGO/INGO Policy Implementation Status and next IRT meeting
Dear IGO/INGO IRT, I thought I’d provide you with a brief status before the end of the year. 1.. Policy Language: The IPT (Implementation Project Team, CANN staff team) is currently working on an update for your next review. Specifically, we are focused on the exceptions procedure considering the feedback received from Hyderabad and then subsequently thinking through the possibilities of what and how the protected organizations, Registries, and Registrars would implement the procedure. 2. IGO list: We’ve received a preliminary report from the GAC representatives. The outstanding task for them is to determine the two language of choice as some organizations has submitted more than two languages and complete their inquiries to those yet to provide the second language. It’s unclear when this will be complete but encouraging to see the progress. I hope we can avoid the discussion on conducting a public comment with or without their final report. 3. INGO List: We’ve already received this year’s update from UNDESA and plan to use it for public comment. We consider this item complete. 4. Claims System: IPT will resume the coordination work with the service provider to refine the system definition and have it ready for execution at the time of the announcement. We’ll continue to provide status to IRT and come back questions if needed. Our next IRT meeting is on 19 January 2017 and I’ll be communicating the agenda prior to that meeting. FYI. ICANN staff will be on holidays from 24 December 2016 through 2 January 2017. On be half of the IPT, I’d like to thank the IRT for the support and guidance thoughout the year. We wish everyone a happy new year! Dennis S. Chang GDD Services & Engagement Program Director +1 213 293 7889 Skype: dennisSchang www.icann.org "One World, One Internet"
