Dear Thick IRT,
Below I’ve captured a few notes from the last IRT meeting and also reiterate our implementation plan.
OT&E:
- OT&E opened as planned on 1 May 2017.
- Registries have submitted the required documentation to ICANN on-schedule.
- Registrars have received documentation from the registries on-schedule.
- Those registrars on the call reported that they have yet to test it but agreed to test soon and report back.
- So far, no technical issues have been identified.
CL&D Policy:
- No issues or risks identified and we are on track to complete implementation by 1 August 2017.
Transition Policy:
- 1 August 2017 is also a key milestone for this policy implementation.
- On this date, the registry production system goes live after 3 months of OT&E and preparation by the registrars.
- At the meeting, RRA was brought up as a concern for meeting this milestone.
- Registry and registrars at the meeting reported that there are on-going activities regarding the RRA. Following the meeting, I’ve confirmed that there
is another team working this.
- Therefore, the Thick IRT is to continue its focus and efforts on the implementation with the assumption that the other team will resolve the matter
in a timely manner as not to impeded the implementation.
- As for the GDPR, the IRT has already decided that this matter is out of scope when we’ve published the implementation in Feb. 2017. There is no change
to this decision and we continue to follow our implementation plan.
