Subject: [gnso-improvem-impl-sc] Deadlines and action items from the SCI call today

Dear SCI members,

 

Please note the action items below, some of which call for immediate action, especially for those members who were not able to attend the call held earlier today. There are some important deadlines to meet, so please respond to this list at your earliest convenience.

 

(For easier review, I’ve listed the items according to timeline/urgency rather than the order of the agenda for today’s call.)

 

 

All nominations (whether by another SCI member or self-nominated) must be sent to this list no later than 23:59 UTC on Tuesday 15 December 2015. Please note that, in accordance with the SCI Charter, if there is more than one candidate for each position, an election lasting one week will be held. Please note also that only primary members can run and vote.

 

Therefore, for those SG/Cs who are in the midst of changing their SCI members – please submit at least the name of your new primary representative by the same deadline, in case a vote is held.

 

 

Two sub-teams will be formed. Sub Team A will consider the next step in in relation to the Council practice for proposing, seconding and amending motions, while Sub Team B will take on the newest request relating to the GNSO Council Chair and Vice-Chair elections.

 

While all are welcome to join either or both teams, the SCI members present today agreed that former and present Councilors would be particularly welcome on Sub Team A. Details of both Council requests can be found here: https://community.icann.org/x/hgjxAg.

 

Agreed timeline – Sub Teams to be formed by end-December. Each Sub Team is expected to begin its work in January, with a first preliminary report to be provided at the next SCI meeting, to be scheduled for February. Please therefore indicate which Sub Team, if any, you would like to volunteer for by the end of this month.

 

 

All SG/Cs that have not yet responded to either confirm existing or name new members are kindly requested to do so as soon as possible. Please refer to this link for the list of current members: https://community.icann.org/x/MYHg.

 

Staff will reach out to all the current NomCom appointees on the GNSO Council to confirm which of them will be the new primary and which the new alternate member to the SCI.
