Testing New Online SOI Wiki Solution
SCI Members: I have been trying to figure out why our early adopters (Avri, J. Scott, Wolf-Ulrich) were unable to execute Steps 7-8 of the New SOI procedures. This morning, I believe I found the reason. There is a special permission setting called "restrict" that was not checked for the SCI members. I have now enabled it for all those who have Logins to this Wiki space. For Wolf-Ulrich and J. Scott, when you get a chance, please log into the GNSO Wiki site (with ID/Pwd), go to your New SOI page, click on Edit (top menu) and proceed to the bottom left of the page where, hopefully, you will see the Restrictions <Edit> setting. Click <Edit> and, on the next page, click the radio button next to <Restrict editing of this page> and click on <Me>. Don't forget to <Save> the page. If you have any further difficulties, please let me know. I would gladly perform this step for you; but, I discovered when I attempted to do it on Avri's SOI page that Confluence assumes that I should also have Page Editing rights because I am the one executing the step. You would then have to go back (as she has since done) to remove me from the list of those who can edit your page. This morning, I also turned on Anonymous <View> access to this GNSO SOI Wiki space so that, while you are in Singapore, if anyone wants to visually see what has been developed for SOIs, that can be accomplished without Login ID or Password. Anonymous users will not have any page creation or editing rights until we have completed all initial testing and are satisfied that the procedures, instructions, permissions, etc., are correct. I will add a note to that effect on the master page at: https://community.icann.org/x/cYLg. If you have not already, please give this a try and let us know how it works for you. Thanks so much for your help! Please try to access the page again. If you encounter any problems please let me know. The site is located at: https://community.icann.org/display/gnsosoi/GNSO+Statements+of+Interest+%28S OI%29. When you go to the link you should get a log-in page. You should use the log-in and password that you have for the GNSO Confluence wiki. Once you log in you will see that we have uploaded a 10-minute tutorial which explains the SOI solution and walks through each of the steps to create a new SOI. Thank you for your participation and we appreciate your feedback. Please let us know if you need any assistance. Julie Julie Hedlund Policy Director
