Dear Rafik,
On behalf of the Constituencies of the Commercial Stakeholder Group we suggest the following steps to fill board seat 14:
- nomination of candidate(s) per SG
- forward the nominations to the GNSO secretariat today
- the election process for this time should follow the 2011 agreed process (8 affirmative votes needed for the candidate selection)
A draft proposal for future election process is attached. Discussion on NCPH level should start immediately, and the three named representatives, or designated alternatives who will be in Singapore will act as intermediaries to finalize a mutually agreed election process.
The CSG will make a nomination today but understands that the NCSG may propose other steps and looks forward to further discussions regarding the election process.
With best regards
Kristina Rosette, CSG/IPC Marilyn Cade, CSG/BC Wolf-Ulrich Knoben, CSG/ISPCP

What would be the NCSG’s preference for the nomination approach?

Simple :because we didnt agree on how nomination will happen. If it is "open field" or by SG or any other approach.
I dont see how we can start nomination before even how the process is designed.
More concerning, no clear reaction from CSG leaders about the whole process till now .
Best,
Rafik

Hi Rafik,I’d like to understand why a nomination of candidates could not be done today. Let’s put forward the names of the candidates the NCSG and the CSG have in mind. The follow-up election process can be determined separately.
Best regards
