In summary, the timeline is as follows:
25 September – deadline for nominations 2 October – candidate statements 17/18 October – Q & A with candidates 21 October – GNSO Chair Election As a reminder, 'each house will be allowed to nominate one candidate for GNSO Council Chair. Each house is responsible for determining how to nominate its candidate. A candidate for GNSO Council Chair does not need to be a member of a house, but must be a member of the GNSO Council'. Each candidate will have the opportunity of meeting with Council Members during the GNSO working sessions in Dublin on the weekend of 17/18 October 2015 (remote participation possible). Election of the chair by voting of the Council will take place during the Council meeting in Dublin on Wednesday, 21 October 2015. In order for the vote to take place, the Council meeting will be split in two parts: · Standard, open and public Council meeting with the current Council. · Adjourn the meeting · Re-seat the Council with the new Councilors. · Re-start new meeting, with one specific agenda item: Election of the Chair

Bill, there is a CSG call on council chair elections tomorrow so I hope we can reach out to the other side of the house soon thereafter. We are still awaiting NCSG response to our July 13 e-mail on the procedure for vice chair election. I'll defer to others re intersessional but I imagine the next step is to constitute a planning committee to work with staff on this. I’m not aware we agreed on a location. Rob put up a Doodle with locations for the chairs/reps but we’ve not sen the results. Several people were lobbying for somewhere not snowbound, which would suggest LA or Singapore (probably too $$), or else somewhere separate from ICANN facilities like LAC (also $$). Would be good to hear the Doodle results… BD

Bill, there is a CSG call on council chair elections tomorrow so I hope we can reach out to the other side of the house soon thereafter.
We are still awaiting NCSG response to our July 13 e-mail on the procedure for vice chair election.
I’ll defer to others re intersessional but I imagine the next step is to constitute a planning committee to work with staff on this.

In summary, the timeline is as follows: 25 September – deadline for nominations 2 October – candidate statements 17/18 October – Q & A with candidates 21 October – GNSO Chair Election As a reminder, 'each house will be allowed to nominate one candidate for GNSO Council Chair. Each house is responsible for determining how to nominate its candidate. A candidate for GNSO Council Chair does not need to be a member of a house, but must be a member of the GNSO Council'. Proposed procedure in Dublin –October 2015
Each candidate will have the opportunity of meeting with Council Members during the GNSO working sessions in Dublin on the weekend of 17/18 October 2015 (remote participation possible). Election of the chair by voting of the Council will take place during the Council meeting in Dublin on Wednesday, 21 October 2015. In order for the vote to take place, the Council meeting will be split in two parts: · Standard, open and public Council meeting with the current Council. · Adjourn the meeting · Re-seat the Council with the new Councilors. · Re-start new meeting, with one specific agenda item: Election of the Chair
