Hi all

My name is Susan Payne and I am Head of Legal Policy at Valideus, supporting applicants for over 120 new gTLD registries, all of whom are owners of global brands.  I’m also currently secretary of the NTAG.   Prior to joining Valideus earlier this year, I worked for a UK media company and was one of the team managing its application for a dotBrand, as well as being responsible for the protection of the company’s brands across the new TLDs at the second level.  I would like to see some of the lessons from the first round actually addressed and in particular a recognition that one size does not fit all and is not the most efficient way to proceed either for applicants or ICANN staff.

Looking forward to working with you all.

Hello All,

I believe these introductions are a really good thing that will benefit the work to come. I would like to encourage those that have not sent an introduction message, and are inclined to do so, to respond to the list whenever you have a moment.

My name is Steve Chan and I will be leading the ICANN policy staff support for this Discussion Group. Previously, I spent a number of years with the New gTLD Program, so I hope that my experiences there will be beneficial to this effort.

Best,

Steve

Hello,

Great to see the introductions and the group starting to form, so I guess it is a good time to jump in

My name is Jeffrey Eckhaus and I am with Rightside Group. The parent company of eNom and Name.com both registrars as well as United TLD the registry for 30+ new TLDs as well as Rightside Registry, the back end service provider for 150+ new TLDs.

As you can see, we are a vertically integrated entity with an interest in the rollout of another round of new TLDs and will hopefully be able to give perspective on all parts of the value chain.

Thanks

Jeff
