- Executive Summary / Matrix / Draft Charter Drafts
Dear DG Members, The co-chairs and staff have prepared drafts of the Executive Summary, Matrix, and Draft Charter, which you will find attached, as well as on the Wiki (https://community.icann.org/display/DGNGSR/DRAFT+Deliverables). In addition, the co-chairs had the opportunity to provide an update on the progress of this group to the GNSO Council and answer their questions. We are happy to report that there were no objections raised in regards to the DG¹s approach. As noted in a previous email, the call scheduled for Monday, 25 May was cancelled as it is a holiday in a number of countries. However, in an effort to move the work of this group forward, a call will be scheduled for Tuesday, 26 May at 15:00 UTC. Please try and find some time to review the revised drafts, as trying to finalize them will be the focus of this upcoming meeting. Hi Steve, Having taken a look at the draft Charter, is it expected that all of the outputs of this discussion group would be handled through a single PDP Working Group? Stephanie, We are leaving that for the Council to ultimately decide, but our recommendation is for 1 PDP Working Group which the WG could then decide to split into multiple subgroups along the lines that we have recommended. That said, ultimately it is the Council that will decide this issue. Hope that helps. Best regards, Jeffrey J. Hi, In the charter - In group 1. while the mention of Applicant support is ok, I think we a missing a bullet on Was there sufficient developing economy outreach in terms of both: - contributing to the nature of the process - making sure they are well aware of the opportunity. - on the bullet in Group 3 about communities
Community applications: Was the overall approach to communities consistent with recommendations and implementation guidance? Did the Community Priority Evaluation process achieve its purpose and result in anticipated outcomes?
I think the following sentence should be added: Were those recommendations adequate for community protection. Thanks and again apologies for my last minute prep for the meeting. avri On 21-May-15 19:21, Steve Chan wrote:
