Dear Working Group Members,

There has recently been spirited discussion on the mailing list about two topics: whether categories of TLDs should be designated and the process for structuring future application procedures.

Staff has attempted to capture key points, questions, and proposals from these discussions in two working documents:

As some may recall, the leadership team has created three Drafting Teams to address these two topics plus one additional topic. This may be a good moment to move the discussion from the main mailing list back into the Drafting Teams:

A good first step could be for the Drafting Teams to review and build on the above working documents, leveraging the Drafting Team mailing lists.

As a reminder, Drafting Teams are open to all Working Group members and all products of the Drafting Teams will go through the full Working Group.
